The Vitamin Barn has been Malibu’s one-stop-shop for holistic health needs since its opening in 1987. Founded by Malibu resident/health fanatic Gene Arnold, the shop has grown into an essential piece of the community over the years. The store runs on its relationships with its patrons, its dedicated employees, and its commitment to great customer service.

The Vitamin Barn features a multitude of services and products, all sold with one common goal in mind: helping you feel your best. If you are looking for supplements to aid with highly specific bodily needs, Gene and the Vitamin Barn have you covered. If you need a shot of nutrition to get you through the day, the in-store smoothie counter can hook you up with both nutritious AND delicious smoothies and immunity shots. Countless flavor combinations and health benefits await, as Gene and his team utilize the freshest local ingredients.
One of the most unique characteristics about the Vitamin Barn is its symbiosis within the Malibu community. When faced with challenges in 2020 that appeared to be the end of the businesses’ decades-long run, the extremely generous regulars of the store pooled their support together. They communicated that they would do anything to help the store stay. And so they did. Gene decided to utilize the help from the community and continue business, moving into what will become the next generation of the Vitamin Barn.
He and his dedicated employees, many of which have been around for decades as well, plan to give away all of their 37 years of secrets during this next stage. The Vitamin Barn wants to teach Malibu, California, and the WORLD how to make delicious, healthy smoothies. They want to help educate consumers on supplements and their many benefits. Thanks to the many loyal customers of the Vitamin Barn over the years, Gene and his team will continue to help be a beacon of holistic health.
